wishes of children who are removed from
their homes for their own safety.
The What & Why?
The mission of the fundraiser is to help provide some type of “normal” Christmas for children that are in child services custody. The kids are from Henry County, (in 2021 we added Carroll County), that have been taken from their homes and placed in a safe place for their own protection based on various reasons and situations, but almost always involves mistreatment and neglect.

Hello, my name is June Wehner. For the last 12 years I have been involved with a fundraiser called Kids Country Christmas.
This is so close to my heart becauce these children are in such need of a normal, healthy, life and Christmas is a part of that. One time a year I, along with many community supporters, get to make so many children happy. It makes my heart smile as each year the donations get bigger and kids we provide Christmas for increases in numbers.
I look foreward to many more years of continued success.

I DO THIS BECAUSE.......
These children, which are as young as 6 weeks old, can’t be placed in State custody yet, which leaves them in limbo. Because of limited funds, I took on this cause so that these kids would have some sense of Christmas and not be totally lost in the system without anything. It’s already bad enough they have been taken from all they’ve known.
Work on this fundraiser goes on all year long. There is planning, promoting, getting donations and auction items, setting up the dinner and music/entertainment. ALL proceeds go towards this project. Children Services gives me a list of boys and girls along with their ages in November. We shop and wrap and deliver on December 2 to Child Services, where they then distribute to the children.
